My senior capstone project was to examine U.S. peregrine falcon urban nest site characteristics. Using nest camera footage available online, I collected data on nest site locations and characteristics. Utilizing the full capabilities of ArcGIS 10.0 and SYSTAT, I analyzed the proximity of urban nest sites to large bodies of water, and the area of open space within 50km. I compared this data to the historical characteristics of peregrine falcon natural nest sites.
